Nissan Navara Drivers Door Not Locking

I can hear the actuator operating in the door lock assembly but not actually locking the door.

The drivers side door fails to lock when the remote key is pressed. If i press the central locking fob it locks all door apart from the drivers it arms the alarm and if i return to the vehicle after a minute pull the handle on the driver side door it opens and the alarm goes off any help appreciated pete. I bought a new nissan door assembly unit and it appears to be not moving freely. But this is also very difficult. If you can still feel it in the drivers door then have a look inside the door and see if the mechanism is all working freely. Does it work properly with the remote.

It is jammed and i cant open it using the key door handles from inside or outside. I have removed the drivers side seat in order to remove some of the door trim to get at the locking mechanism.
