The only way i can open and close it now is by crawling through the car and using the small finger hole manual release. My drivers side door will intermittently not open. The rear hatch on my 2010 forester wouldn t open or respond to lock unlock commands. I then test the lock by pulling the lock up on the door to make sure it isn t sticking.

The same thing happens with the key fob. If you have this problem try switching the relays. Then it won t fully open or close with motor. The primary method of opening the hatch is an electronic button on the hatch.

It does not mater if i am using the remote or if i am using the lock unloc button on the drivers door. Now i can get started and have everything fixed in a day. The only way to open it is to physically pull the handle. Currently the rear hatch door broke in that it won t properly open with the key.
